OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
APPROPRIATING UNANTICIPATED REVENUE IN THE GENERAL FUND
FOR THE CLIMATE WISE LOCAL GOVERNMENT/INDUSTRIAL PARTNERSHIP
TO REDUCE GREENHOUSE GAS EMISSIONS
WHEREAS, the City of Fort Collins has been awarded a Local Government/Industrial
Partnership to Reduce Greenhouse Gas Emissions grant from the International Council of Local
Environmental Initiatives (ICLEI) in the amount of$22,000; and
WHEREAS, these funds will be used by the Natural Resources Department to encourage
local industrial and manufacturing businesses to increase energy efficiency,reduce waste generation,
save money, and reduce their greenhouse gas emissions; and
WHEREAS, the City will also develop a plan to reduce greenhouse gases from municipal
activities; and
WHEREAS, the grant requires an in-kind match of$6,000 that will be met by the existing
Natural Resources Department budget for 1999; and
WHEREAS,Article V, Section 9, of the Charter of the City of Fort Collins permits the City
Council to make supplemental appropriations by ordinance at any time during the fiscal year,
provided thatthe total amount of such supplemental appropriations,in combination with all previous
appropriations for that fiscal year,does not exceed the then current estimate of actual and anticipated
revenues to be received during the fiscal year.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT
COLLINS that there is hereby appropriated from unanticipated revenue in the General Fund the sum
of TWENTY-TWO THOUSAND DOLLARS ($22,000) for expenditure, upon receipt, in the
General Fund for the Natural Resources Local Government/Industrial Partnership to Reduce
Greenhouse Gas Emissions Project.
Introduced and considered favorably on first reading and ordered published this l 6th day of
November,A.D. 1999,and to be presented for final passage on the 7th day of December,A.D. 1999.
