OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
APPROPRIATING UNANTICIPATED REVENUE
IN THE GENERAL FUND
WHEREAS,the Fort Collins Library has received a grant from the Colorado Department of
Higher Education for$175,000 for the Electronic Literacy Connection Project; and
WHEREAS,the Fort Collins Electronic Literacy Connection project involves a partnership
between the Fort Collins Public Library, Front Range Community College, and the Poudre School
District; and
WHEREAS, grant funds will be combined with existing resources to create a network of
computers, facilities, equipment, databases, and software programs for the public; and
WHEREAS,Article V, Section 9, of the Charter of the City of Fort Collins permits the City
Council to make supplemental appropriations by ordinance at any time during the fiscal year,
provided that the total amount of such supplemental appropriations,in combination with all previous
appropriations for that fiscal year,does not exceed the then current estimate of actual and anticipated
revenues to be received during the fiscal year; and
WHEREAS, City staff has determined that the appropriation of the unanticipated grant
revenue from the Colorado Department of Higher Education referenced herein will not cause total
appropriations to exceed the current estimate of actual and anticipated revenues for fiscal year 1997.
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT
COLLINS that there is hereby appropriated from unanticipated grant revenue in the General Fund
the sum of ONE HUNDRED SEVENTY-FIVE THOUSAND DOLLARS ($175,000) for
expenditure upon receipt in the General Fund for the Fort Collins Electronic Literacy Connection
Project.
Introduced, considered favorably on first reading, and ordered published this 5th day of
August, A.D. 1997, and to be presented for final passage on the 19th day of August, A.D. 1997.
