HomeMy WebLinkAbout060 - 04/15/1997 - APPROPRIATING UNANTICIPATED REVENUE IN THE GENERAL FUND FOR THE POLICE SERVICES SAFETY BELT PROGRAM 0 0 ORDINANCE NO. 60, 1997 OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS APPROPRIATING UNANTICIPATED REVENUE IN THE GENERAL FUND FOR THE POLICE SERVICES SAFETY BELT PROGRAM WHEREAS, Fort Collins Police Services has been awarded a grant in the amount of$8,000 from the Colorado Department of Transportation; and WHEREAS,Council adopted Resolution 97-45 on April 1, 1997, approving and authorizing the Mayor to execute the contract between the City and the Colorado Department of Transportation; and WHEREAS, Article V, Section 14, of the City Charter permits the City Council to appropriate by ordinance unanticipated revenue which is the result of rate or fee increases or new revenue sources at any time during the year in which such revenue is received; and WHEREAS,the grant is to be used to pay for the promotion of seat belt and child safety seat uses in Colorado and the enforcement of laws concerning use of occupant protection restraints. NOW,THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS that there is hereby appropriated for expenditure from unanticipated revenue in the General Fund the sum of EIGHT THOUSAND DOLLARS ($8,000) for the Fort Collins Police Services promotion of seat belt and child safety seat uses and the enforcement of laws concerning the use of occupant protection restraints in motor vehicles.
