HomeMy WebLinkAbout014 - 02/19/1985 - AMENDING THE CITY CODE RELATING TO THE MODEL TRAFFIC CODE FOR COLORADO MUNICIPALITIES, 1977 EDITION sN • ORDINANCE NO. 14, 1985 OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS AMENDING SECTION 114-2 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS RELATING TO THE "MODEL TRAFFIC CODE FOR COLORADO MUNICIPALITIES" , 1977 EDITION BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS: Section 114-2 (amendments) of the Code of the City of Fort Collins is hereby amended as follows: Section 1 . Section 114-2A is amended to set out the following additionaT—amendments to the provisions of the Model Traffic Code, in numerical sequence with previous amendments: Section 12-2, Obedience to stopping, standing or parking regulations,' subsection (a) , is amended to read as follows: (a) On any street or at any place within this municipality where official signs are posted or markings are present giving notice of stopping, standing or parking restrictions or prohibi- tions as authorized in section 23-9 of this Code and described in traffic control schedules as provided in section 23-12, no person shall stop, stand or park a vehicle in any manner in violation of the provisions contained on such sign or signs or indicated BY such markings except when necessary to avoid conflict with other traffic, or in compliance with the directions of a police officer or official traffic control device or except for the purpose of loading or unloading passengers when such standing does not obstruct, impede or endanger any traffic. Section 22-20, Authority to impound vehicles, subsection (c) , is hereby added as follows and the existing subsections (c) and (d) shall be relettered as (d) and (e) : (c) No person shall abandon any vehicle upon any part of a street or highway right-of-way within this municipality or upon property within this municipality other than public rights-of-way without the consent of the owner or lessee thereof. Any vehicle so left on property other than public rights-of-way shall be presumed to be abandoned unless prior arrangements with the owner or lessee of said property have been made. Any vehicle left on any portion of a public right-of-way shall be presumed to be abandoned under the conditions set out in subsection (a) , above.
