Home My WebLink About120 - 10/15/1985 - AMENDING THE CITY CODE RELATING TO RATES FOR THE WATER AND SEWER UTILITY ORDINANCE NO. 120 , 1985 OF THE COUNCIL OF THE C=OF FORT COLLINS BEING AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 112 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS RELATING TO RATES FOR THE WATER AND SEWER UTILITY BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. That Section 112-52 of the Code of the City of Fort Collins be, and the same hereby is, amended to read as follows: 112-52. Flat rates for unmetered water use. The following flat rates shall be charged on a monthly basis for the use of water from the Water Utility when the use is not metered: A. For each family living unit: nine dollars and seventy-six cents ($9.76). B. For each lot having an area between six thousand (6,000) and nine thousand (9,000) square feet: an additional eight dollars and thirty-nine cents ($8.39). C. For each lot having an area over nine thousand (9,000) square feet : an additional sixteen cents ($0.16) per one hundred (100) square feet in excess of nine thousand (9,000) square feet. D. For each lot having an area under six thousand (6,000) square feet: a deduction of sixteen cents ($0.16) per one hundred (100) square feet under six thousand (6,000) square feet. E. The rate to be charged for each flat rate use shall be the sum of the amounts determined pursuant to the applicable portions of Subsection A through D above, except that no flat rate user shall be charged less than the monthly minimum charge per family unit, which minimum charge shall be eleven dollars and thirty-four cents ($11.34). Section 2. That Section 112-55A of the Code of the City of Fort Collins be, and the same hereby is, amended to read as follows: 112-55. Metered rate schedules. A. Schedule A: Inside City Metered Rates. (1) Minimum charge. The monthly minimum charge for all metered users shall be as follows : (a) Residential customers: nine dollars and seventy-six cents ($9.76) for the first dwelling unit and five dollars and eighty-eight cents ($5.88) for each additional dwelling unit. (b) Nonresidential customers : Meter Size Monthly (inches ) Minimum Charges 3/4 $ 9. 76 1 16.35 1-1/2 32.74 2 52.48 3 98.45 4 164.02 6 327.97 8 524.77 (2) The minimum charge determined pursuant to Subsection A( 1) above will entitle any nonresidential user to two thousand (2,000) gallons of water per month without additional charge and will entitle any residential customer to two thousand (2,000) gallons of water per month times the number of dwelling units served. The charge to be made for all water taken through the meter after the allowance for the minimum charge shall be charged for at the rate of eighty-one cents ($0.81) per one thousand (1,000) gallons. Section 3. That Section 112-77B of the Code of the City of Fort Collins be, and the same hereby is, amended to read as follows: 112-77. Schedules. B. Schedule B (charges and fees). (1) The rate for each category shall be: Category Class of Customer Rate A Single-Family residential $10.83 per month user (either flat rate or metered water use) B Duplex (two-family) $17.63 per month residential user (either flat rate or metered water use) C Multiple-Family residential $0.96 per 1,000 user (more than 2 living gallons of winter units ) water use, with a minimum charge of $4.01 per month per living unit served D Minor Nonresidential $0.96 per 1,000 gallons of water use, with a minimum charge as follows: Size of Monthly Water Meter Minimum (inches) Charge 3/4 or smaller $ 4.01 1 5.32 1 1/2 9.34 2 16.03 3 33.38 4 53.44 6 120.28 E Intermediate $0.96 per 1,000 and Nonresidential gallons of water F Major Nonresidential use or measured sewage flow, whichever is applicable; and $0.555 per million gallons for each milli - gram per liter of sus- pended solids in excess of 250 milligrams per liter; plus a surcharge of $0.446 per million gallons for each milli - gram per liter of BOD in excess of 200 milligrams per liter or a surcharge of $0.297 per million gallons for each milli - gram per liter of COD in excess of 300 milli - grams per liter, which- ever is applicable. A minimum charge would also be made, if appli - cable as follows: Size of Monthly Water Meter Minimum (inches) Charge 3/4 or smaller $ 4.01 1 5.32 1 1/2 9.34 2 16.03 3 33.38 4 53.44 6 120.28 G Outside City limits user The rate shall be 1 1/2 (more than 2 living units ) times that of similar users inside the city limits H Special The rate shall be negotiated I The above charges are not applicable during the original construction period of the building or structure to be served. At the time a certificate of occupancy is issued for the building or structure, the above charges will begin to be assessed. (2) Fees. That Section 112-77C of the Code of the City of Fort Collins be and the same hereby is , amended to read as follows : C. Schedule C (surcharge) . (1) Charges. The amendments recited herein shall become effective on all billings rendered on or after January 1, 1986 relating to services provided during the month of December, 1985, and thereafter.
