HomeMy WebLinkAbout007 - 01/18/2000 - APPROPRIATING UNANTICIPATED REVENUE IN THE CAPITAL PROJECTS FUND TO BE USED TO INSTALL NEW CROSSING ORDINANCE NO. 7, 2000 OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS APPROPRIATING UNANTICIPATED REVENUE IN THE CAPITAL PROJECTS FUND DOWNTOWN RAILROAD TRACK CONSOLIDATION CAPITAL PROJECT TO BE USED TO INSTALL NEW CROSSING WARNING DEVICES AT THE LINCOLN AVENUE CROSSING OF THE UNION PACIFIC RAILROAD TRACKS NORTHEAST OF JEFFERSON STREET WHEREAS,Article V, Section 9, of the Charter of the City of Fort Collins (the "Charter") permits the City Council to make supplemental appropriations by ordinance at any time during the fiscal year,provided that the total amount of such supplemental appropriations,in combination with all previous appropriations for that fiscal year, does not exceed the then current estimate of actual and anticipated revenues to be received during the fiscal year; and WHEREAS, the City Council adopted Resolution 2000-3, on January 4, 2000, authorizing the City to enter into a contract with the Colorado Department of Transportation(CDOT) and the Union Pacific Railroad Company for the receipt of Intermodal Surface Transportation Efficiency Act funds (ISTEA) to be used to install new crossing warning devices at the Lincoln Avenue crossing of the Union Pacific Railroad tracks northeast of Jefferson Street (the "Project'); and WHEREAS, the estimated cost of the Project is one hundred fifty-five thousand dollars ($155,000); and WHEREAS, CDOT has made available to the City Intermodal Surface Transportation Efficiency Act funds to pay for one hundred percent (100%) of the cost of installing new crossing warning devices at the Project, or $148,844; and WHEREAS, local funds, totaling six thousand one hundred fifty-six dollars ($6,156)have been identified and are appropriated in the 2000 Capital Projects Downtown Railroad Track Consolidation capital project to be used to reimburse the Colorado Department of Transportation for its costs in administering the Project; and WHEREAS, it is the desire of the Council to appropriate the sum of$148,844 in federal Intermodal Surface Transportation Efficiency Act funds to be used to install new crossing warning devices at the Lincoln Avenue Crossing of the Union Pacific Railroad Tracks Northeast of Jefferson Street. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS that there is hereby appropriated for expenditure from unanticipated revenue in the Capital Projects Fund Downtown Railroad Track Consolidation capital project, the sum of ONE HUNDRED FORTY-EIGHT THOUSAND EIGHT HUNDRED FORTY-FOUR DOLLARS ($148,844), from Colorado Department of Transportation Intermodal Surface Transportation Efficiency Act funds, to be used to install new crossing warning devices at the Lincoln Avenue Crossing of the Union Pacific Railroad Tracks Northeast of Jefferson Street. Introduced and considered favorably on first reading and ordered published this 4th day of January, A.D. 2000, and to be presented for final passage on the 18th day of January, A.D. 2000.
