HomeMy WebLinkAbout100 - 07/15/1997 - APPROPRIATING UNANTICIPATED REVENUE IN THE GENERAL FUND FOR THE RADON PROGRAM ORDINANCE NO. 100, 1997 OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS APPROPRIATING UNANTICIPATED REVENUE IN THE GENERAL FUND FOR THE RADON PROGRAM WHEREAS, the City has been awarded a grant in the amount of $16,845 from the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment Radiation Control Division; and WHEREAS, the City has also received revenue in the amount of$8,104 from the sale of radon test kits; and WHEREAS, these funds will be used to continue the radon education, testing, and mitigation programs and to expand a radon potential mapping study of the Fort Collins Urban Growth Area; and WHEREAS, Article V, Section 9, of the Charter of the City of Fort Collins permits the City Council to make supplemental appropriations by ordinance at any time during the fiscal year, provided that the total amount of such supplemental appropriations, in combination with all previous appropriations for that fiscal year, do not exceed the then current estimate of actual and anticipated revenues to be received during the fiscal year; and WHEREAS, City staff has determined that the appropriation of the unanticipated grant revenue from the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment Radiation Control Division and the unanticipated revenue from the sale of radon test kits referenced herein will not cause total appropriations to exceed the current estimate of actual and anticipated revenues for fiscal year 1997. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS as follows: Section 1. That, upon receipt, there is hereby appropriated for expenditure from unanticipated grant revenue in the General Fund the sum of SIXTEEN THOUSAND EIGHT HUNDRED FORTY-FIVE DOLLARS ($16,845) for expenditure in the General Fund for the Natural Resources radon program. Section 2. That there is hereby appropriated for expenditure from unanticipated revenue in the General Fund the sum of EIGHT THOUSAND ONE HUNDRED FOUR DOLLARS ($8,104) for expenditure in the General Fund for the Natural Resources radon program.
