HomeMy WebLinkAbout096 - 07/18/1989 - AMENDING THE CITY CODE RELATING TO THE FUNDS CREATED TO ACCOUNT FOR TRANSPORTATION SERVICES ORDINANCE NO. 96, 1989 OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS AMENDING CHAPTER 8, ARTICLE III, DIVISION 2 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS RELATING TO THE FUNDS CREATED TO ACCOUNT FOR TRANSPORTATION SERVICES WHEREAS, funds may be created for any purpose pursuant to Article V, Section 26 of the Charter; and WHEREAS, the City wishes to segregate certain funds presently accounted for in the Transportation Services Fund to facilitate more effective financial management of revenues and expenditures related to the City's transit services. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS: Section 1 . That Section 8-88 of the City Code relating to the Transportation Services Fund is hereby amended as follows: Sec. 8-88. Transportation services fund. There is hereby created a fund to account for all transportation services excepting public transit services. This fund shall be known as the transportation services fund. Revenues shall include transportation utility fees, taxes, intergovernmental revenue, transfers from the general fund or other funds of the city and other monies as might be available for transportation services. Expenditures shall be made for approved purposes in connection with transportation services. Section 2. That the Code of the City of Fort Collins is hereby amended by adding a section, to be numbered Section 8-90, which section reads as follows: Sec. 8-90. Transit services fund. There is hereby created a fund to account for the provision, administration and development of public transit services, including fixed route, paratransit, ride-share and related services. This fund shall be known as the transit services fund. Revenues shall include fees for services , advertising , contractual , intergovernmental revenue, transfers from the general fund or other funds of the city and any other monies as might be available for transit services. Expenditures shall be made for approved purposes in connection with public transit services. Introduced, considered favorably on first reading, and ordered published this 20th day of June, A.D. 1989, and to be presented for final passage on the 18th day of July, A.D. 1989.
