HomeMy WebLinkAbout023 - 03/05/1996 - APPROPRIATING UNANTICIPATED REVENUE IN THE GENERAL FUND FOR THE REGIONAL CONFERENCE AT RISK VICTIMS ORDINANCE NO. 23, 1996 OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS APPROPRIATING UNANTICIPATED REVENUE IN THE GENERAL FUND FOR THE REGIONAL CONFERENCE, "AT RISK VICTIMS OF CRIME: BROADENING OUR HORIZONS" WHEREAS,the City has been awarded a grant from the United States Department of Justice in the amount of$10,000; and WHEREAS,these funds will be used to help fund a regional conference, "At Risk Victims of Crime: Broadening Our Horizons" (the "Conference") to take place June 27 and 28, 1996; and WHEREAS, the Conference is a comprehensive effort to offer information and skills development to law enforcement officers, health care professionals and social service personnel, working with the elderly, children, persons with disabilities, hate crime victims and other special populations; and WHEREAS,the City anticipates receiving$12,250 from registration and lunch fees from the 200 participants; and WHEREAS,Article V, Section 14, of the Charter of the City of Fort Collins authorizes the City Council to appropriate by ordinance unanticipated revenue which is the result of rate or fee increases or new revenue sources at any time during the year in which such revenue is received. NOW,THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS as follows: Section 1. That there is hereby appropriated for expenditure from unanticipated grant revenue in the General Fund the sum of TEN THOUSAND DOLLARS ($10,000) to be used to defray the costs of a regional conference, "At Risk Victims of Crime: Broadening Our Horizons". Section 2. That there is hereby appropriated, upon receipt, for expenditure from unanticipated conference fee revenue in the General Fund the sum of TWELVE THOUSAND TWO HUNDRED FIFTY DOLLARS ($12,250) for the Conference.
