HomeMy WebLinkAbout039 - 05/02/2000 - APPROPRIATING UNANTICIPATED GRANT REVENUE FOR THE POLICE SERVICES CRIMES AGAINST PERSONS AND VICTIM ORDINANCE NO. 39, 2000 OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS APPROPRIATING UNANTICIPATED GRANT REVENUE IN THE GENERAL FUND FOR THE POLICE SERVICES CRIMES AGAINST PERSONS AND VICTIM SERVICES UNITS WHEREAS,the City of Fort Collins has been awarded a grant in the amount of$4,500 from the State of Colorado Violence Against Women Act (VAWA); and WHEREAS,the VAWA grant is awarded to agencies to assist in the enhancement of services to women who are victims of crime; and WHEREAS, the VAWA grant will be used to help fund training opportunities for Police Services Detectives and Victim Advocates; and WHEREAS, the grant requires an in-kind match that is met by the time volunteered by the Police Services Victim Advocates; and WHEREAS,Article V, Section 9,of the Charter of the City of Fort Collins permits the City Council to make supplemental appropriations by ordinance at any time during the fiscal year, provided that the total amount of such supplemental appropriations,in combination with all previous appropriations for that fiscal year,does not exceed the then current estimate of actual and anticipated revenues to be received during the fiscal year. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS that there is hereby appropriated from unanticipated revenue in the General Fund the sum of FOUR THOUSAND FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS($4,500)for expenditure in the General Fund for the Police Services Crimes Against Persons and Victim Services Units. Introduced, considered favorably on first reading, and ordered published this 18th day of April A.D. 2000, and to be presented for final passage on the 2nd day of May, A.D. 2000.
