OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
APPROPRIATING UNANTICIPATED REVENUE IN THE GENERAL FUND
FOR THE HUMAN RIGHTS OFFICE
WHEREAS, the City of Fort Collins has received an anonymous donation of$50,000; and
WHEREAS, the donation is to be used to fund a contractual position for one year; and
WHEREAS,the contractual position will develop and coordinate a year-long youth program
to develop leaders and community builders from under-represented, non-traditional youth leaders;
and
WHEREAS,the contractual position will prepare and conduct presentations and educational
programs on topics such as diversity and multiculturalism for public and private sector groups; and
WHEREAS,the contractual position will also help plan,promote and coordinate community
programs and projects, and will conduct ongoing research for additional and continuous financial
program assistance; and
WHEREAS,Article V, Section 9,of the Charter of the City of Fort Collins permits the City
Council to make supplemental appropriations by ordinance at any time during the fiscal year,
provided that the total amount of such supplemental appropriations,in combination with all previous
appropriations for that fiscal year,does not exceed the then current estimate of actual and anticipated
revenues to be received during the fiscal year.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT
COLLINS that there is hereby appropriated from unanticipated revenue in the General Fund the sum
of FIFTY THOUSAND DOLLARS ($50,000)for expenditure in the General Fund for a contractual
position in the Human Rights Office for one year.
Introduced and considered favorably on first reading and ordered published this 15th day of
August, A.D. 2000, and to be presented for final passage on the 5th qwf6f September, A.D. 2000.
