OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
APPROPRIATING UNANTICIPATED REVENUE IN THE
GENERAL FUND FOR THE FORT COLLINS
PUBLIC LIBRARY ADULT LITERACY PROGRAM
WHEREAS, Article V, Section 14, of the Charter of the City of Fort Collins
permits the City Council to appropriate by ordinance unanticipated revenue which
is the result of rate or fee increases or new revenue sources at any time during
the year in which such revenue is received; and
WHEREAS, the Fort Collins Public Library ("the Library") has been awarded
a United States Department of Education grant in the amount of $35,000 for the
continuation of literacy activities at the Library through 1994; and
WHEREAS, the Library has also been awarded a United States Department of
Education grant in the amount of $32,167 to continue the literacy program
providing one-on-one tutoring in basic literacy and job skills to low-literate,
unemployed Fort Collins residents.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT
COLLINS that there is hereby appropriated from unanticipated revenue in the
General Fund the sum of Sixty-seven Thousand One Hundred Sixty-seven Dollars
($67,167) for the adult literacy program of the Library.
Introduced, considered favorably on first reading, and ordered published
this 5th day of October, A.D. 1993, and to be presented for final passage on the
19th day of October, A.D. 1993.
