HomeMy WebLinkAbout084 - 08/04/1992 - APPROPRIATING PRIOR YEAR RESERVES IN THE GENERAL EMPLOYEES RETIREMENT PENSION FUND ORDINANCE NO. 84, 1992 OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS APPROPRIATING PRIOR YEAR RESERVES IN THE GENERAL EMPLOYEES RETIREMENT PENSION FUND WHEREAS, Article V, Section 7, of the Charter of the City of Fort Collins authorizes the City Council to provide by ordinance for the payment of any expense from reserves accumulated in prior years, notwithstanding that such reserves were not appropriated for expenditure in the annual appropriation ordinance; and WHEREAS, meetings with a cross section of the members of the General Employees Retirement Plan identified a need for additional information to be developed and disseminated to the members of the Plan; and WHEREAS, given the demand for additional information and discussion of the provisions of the Plan, the General Employees Retirement Committee recommends that an education and communication program for City employees concerning the Retirement Plan be developed. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS that there is hereby appropriated for expenditure from prior year reserves in the General Employees Retirement Pension Fund the sum of THIRTY-FIVE THOUSAND DOLLARS ($35,000) for the General Employees Retirement Plan education and communication program.
