OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
REPEALING ORDINANCE NO. 22, 1998
WHEREAS, on March 3, 1998,the Council of the City of Fort Collins ado ed, on second
reading, Ordinance No. 22, 1998,which ordinance amended portions of Article I of Chapter 13 of
the City Code by adding sexual orientation as a basis of discrimination ("the O dinance"); and
WHEREAS,on April 7, 1998,a petition was submitted to the City C erk,which petition has
been certified by the City Clerk as containing a sufficient number of sign a es to refer the Ordinance
to a vote of the registered electors of the City; and

WHEREAS, said petition was presented to the City Counct its April 21, 1998 meeting;
and
WHEREAS,pursuant to Article X, Section 2 of the Oarter of the City of Fort Collins,the
presentation to Council of a petition certified by the C' Clerk as sufficient for referendum
automatically suspends the operation of the ordinance in estion pending repeal by Council or final
determination by the electors; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has deterin ed that it is in the best interest of the health,
safety, and welfare of the City and its citizens thZthe Ordinance be repealed.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDA ED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT
COLLINS that Ordinance No. 22, 1998 be and hereby is, repealed in its entirety.
