OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
APPROPRIATING UNANTICIPATED FEDERAL GRANT REVENUE IN THE GENERAL
FUND FOR THE FORUMS AND FIESTAS MULTICULTURAL OUTREACH PROJECT
WHEREAS, the Fort Collins Public Library has received federal funds in the form of a
Library Services and Technology Act grant administered by the Colorado Department of Education
for$6,000; and
WHEREAS, the grant funds are for the Forums and Fiestas Multicultural Outreach project
which provides two monthly programs to take place in 2000 and 2001 to educate and reach out to
various ethnic and cultural minorities in our community; and
WHEREAS, the grant will provide funds to hire speakers and entertainers, and to attract
audiences through publicity, and provide refreshments; and
WHEREAS,Article V,Section 9,of the Charter of the City of Fort Collins permits the City
Council to make supplemental appropriations by ordinance at any time during the fiscal year,
provided that the total amount of such supplemental appropriations,in combination with all previous
appropriations for that fiscal year, does not exceed the then current estimate of the actual and
anticipated revenues to be received during the fiscal year.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT
COLLINS that there is hereby appropriated from unanticipated grant revenue in the General Fund
the sum of SIX THOUSAND DOLLARS ($6,000) for expenditure in the General Fund for the
Forums and Fiestas Multicultural Outreach project.
Introduced, considered favorably on first reading, and ordered published this 7th day of
November, A.D. 2000, and to be presented for final passage on the 21 day of November, A.D.
