OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
APPROPRIATING PRIOR YEAR RESERVES IN THE
CEMETERY FUND AND AUTHORIZING THE TRANSFER
OF SUCH FUNDS TO THE CAPITAL PROJECTS FUND
WHEREAS, the City wishes to construct 144 new columbarium niches in the "Four
Seasons Complex" at Grandview Cemetery; and
WHEREAS, the cost of the columbarium niches will be $28,170; and
WHEREAS, funds to cover this cost have been generated from the sale of existing
columbarium niches; and
WHEREAS, these funds are available in Cemetery Fund prior year reserves; and
WHEREAS, Article V, Section 9, of the Charter of the City of Fort Collins permits the
City Council to appropriate by ordinance at any time during the fiscal year such funds for
expenditure as may be available from reserves accumulated in prior years, notwithstanding that
such reserves were not previously appropriated; and
WHEREAS, Article V, Section 10, of the Charter authorizes the City Council to transfer
by ordinance any unexpended and unencumbered amount or portion thereof from one fund or
project to another fund or project, provided that the purpose for which the transferred funds are
to be expended remains unchanged.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT
COLLINS that there is hereby appropriated for expenditure from the Cemetery Fund Reserves the
sum of TWENTY-EIGHT THOUSAND ONE HUNDRED SEVENTY DOLLARS ($28,170),
which amount is authorized for transfer to the Mausoleum/Columbarium Complex project in the
Capital Projects Fund and appropriated therein.
