OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
APPROPRIATING UNANTICIPATED REVENUE
IN THE GENERAL. FUND
WHEREAS, the Fort Collins Library has received federal funds in the form of a Library
Services and Construction Act grant administered by the Colorado Department of Education for
$22,600; and
WHEREAS, the grant funds are for the Library Services and Facilities Public Relations
project which proposes a public relations campaign,to take place during 1997 and 1998,that targets
local businesses, professional organizations, and potential corporate sponsors; and
WHEREAS,the grant will provide funds to hire a professional public relations firm to design
a three-year public relations campaign and to implement a one-year public relations/marketing
campaign targeting these groups; and
WHEREAS,Article V, Section 9, of the Charter of the City of Fort Collins permits the City
Council to make supplemental appropriations by ordinance at any time during the fiscal year,
provided that the total amount of such supplemental appropriations,in combination with all previous
appropriations for that fiscal year,does not exceed the then current estimate of actual and anticipated
revenues to be received during the fiscal year; and
WHEREAS, City staff has determined that the appropriation of the unanticipated grant
revenue from the Colorado Department of Education referenced herein will not cause total
appropriations to exceed the current estimate of actual and anticipated revenues for fiscal year 1997.
NOW,THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT
COLLINS that there is hereby appropriated from unanticipated grant revenue in the General Fund
the sum of TWENTY-TWO THOUSAND SIX HUNDRED DOLLARS ($22,600) for expenditure
upon receipt in the General Fund for the Library Services and Facilities Public Relations Project.
Introduced, considered favorably on first reading, and ordered published this 5th day of
August, A.D. 1997, and to be presented for final passage on the 19th day of August, A.D. 1997.
