HomeMy WebLinkAbout016 - 02/20/1996 - AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 179, 1993 TO EXTEND EXPIRATION DATE OF ORDINANCE UNTIL MAY 1, 1996 (NO ACTION ALTERNATIVE ORDINANCE NO. 16, 1996 OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS AMENDING SECTION 4 OF ORDINANCE NO. 179, 1993, FOR THE PURPOSE OF EXTENDING THE EXPIRATION DATE OF SAID ORDINANCE UNTIL MAY I, 1996 WHEREAS, on December 21, 1993, the Council of the City of Fort ollins enacted Emergency Ordinance No. 179, 1993 ("Ordinance No. 179"), which increased cc ain minimum lot area requirements for one-family and two-family dwellings in the N- -M Neighborhood Conservation Medium Density Zoning District; and WHEREAS, Section 4 of Ordinance No. 179 provided that sai ordinance would continue in effect until December 31, 1994, or until supplemental "design cr' eria" are adopted by the City Council for implementation of the plans, whichever shall first oc r, and WHEREAS, by Ordinance No. 180, 1994, the Co cil extended the expiration date of Ordinance No. 179, 1993, to May 31, 1995; and WHEREAS, by Ordinance No. 56, 1995, tl Council extended the expiration date of Ordinance No. 179, 1993, to June 30, 1995; and WHEREAS, by Ordinance No. 81, 1 95, the Council extended the expiration date of Ordinance No. 179, 1993, to September 15, 995; and WHEREAS, by Ordinance N 114, 1995, the Council extended the expiration date of Ordinance No. 114, 1995, to March , 1996; and WHEREAS, on Januar 22, 1996, the Planning and Zoning Board recommended to the Council that the expiration d• e as established pursuant to Ordinance No. 179, 1993, be extended until May I, 1996, for th purpose of allowing the staff additional time to attempt to build a community consensus i the affected neighborhoods; and WHEREA , the Council has directed that the staff conduct additional public outreach for the purpose of b ' ding consensus in the affected neighborhoods around the goal of either developing modil'ications o the proposed standards and guidelines or developing zoning changes, or a combinatio of both that will properly protect the welfare of the affected neighborhoods; and HEREAS, it is necessary that the staff be given additional time to conduct, and present the pro et of, such public outreach to the Council; and WHEREAS, the purpose of this Ordinance is to amend Section 4 of Ordinance No. 179, 1993, to continue its effect until May 1, 1996. o AC-�Ov) NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS that Section 4 of Ordinance No. 179 be and hereby is amended to read as follows: Section 4. That this Ordinance shall continue in effect through the I st day of May, 1996, at which time the amendment enacted pursuant hereto shall become null and void and the language of Section 29-167 of the Code shall read in its entirety as it did immediately prior to this amendment.
