OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
APPROPRIATING UNANTICIPATED REVENUE IN THE GENERAL FUND
FOR POLICE SERVICES AND AUTHORIZING THE TRANSFER
OF APPROPRIATED AMOUNTS BETWEEN ACCOUNTS AND PROJECTS
FOR THE LARIMER COUNTY MULTI-JURISDICTIONAL DRUG TASK FORCE
WHEREAS,Fort Collins Police Services has been awarded a grant of federal money in the
amount of$202,101 through the Colorado Division of Criminal Justice; and
WHEREAS,this grant is to be used by the Multi-j urisdictional Drug Task Force to fund the
investigation of illegal narcotics activities in Larimer County; and
WHEREAS,the City of Fort Collins will administer the grant for the Drug Task Force which
includes the Fort Collins Police Department,Loveland Police Department,Larimer County Sheriff s
Department, and the Colorado State University Police Department; and
WHEREAS, the members of the Drug Task Force will provide grant matching funds in the
amount of$202,101; and
WHEREAS,Fort Collins' portion of the matching funds is$87,608 which is included in the
1998 Police Services budget for this purpose and are available for transfer to the Multi jurisdictional
Drug Task Force Grant Project; and
WHEREAS,Article V, Section 9,of the Charter of the City of Fort Collins permits the City
Council to make supplemental appropriations by ordinance at any time during the fiscal year,
provided that the total amount of such supplemental appropriations,in combination with all previous
appropriations for that fiscal year,does not exceed the then current estimate of actual and anticipated
revenues to be received during the fiscal year; and
WHEREAS,Article V, Section 10,of the Charter authorizes the City Council to transfer by
ordinance any unexpended and unencumbered amount of portion thereof from one fund or project
to another fund or project, provided that the purpose for which the transferred funds are to be
expended remains unchanged.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT
COLLINS as follows:
Section 1. That there is hereby appropriated from unanticipated grant revenue in the
General Fund the sum of TWO HUNDRED TWO THOUSAND ONE HUNDRED ONE
DOLLARS($202,101)for expenditure,upon receipt,in the General Fund for Police Services for the
Multi jurisdictional Drug Task Force Grant Project.
Section 2. That the unexpended appropriated amount of EIGHTY-SEVEN THOUSAND
SIX HUNDRED EIGHT ($87,608) is authorized for transfer from the Police Services operating
budget in the General Fund to the Multi jurisdictional Grant Project.
