ORDINANCE NO. 19, 1996
OF THE COUNCIL OF Till; CITY OF PORT COLLINS
ADOPTING THE "STANDARDS AND GUIDELINES FOR HISTORIC PRO ',RT1ES"
WHEREAS, the Council, pursuant to Resolution 86-58, adopted the E- stside Neighborhood
Plan and incorporated said plan into the Comprehensive Plan of the City; • ud
WHEREAS, the Council, pw-suanl to Resolution 89-1 , adopted the Westside
Neighborhood Plan and incorporated said plan into the Comprehet rve Plan of the City; and
WHEREAS, in pursuance of the City's goal of promo ng landnauk preservation and in
pursuance of the policies established in the aforesaid Plans, c t'taiu "Standards and Guidelines for
Iistoric Properties" (hereafter referred to as "the Guideline ') have been prepared; and
WHEREAS, the Standards and Guidelines were resented to aucl reviewed by the Planning
and Zoning Board (tile "Board") at it public hcarin on January 22, 1996, and the Council has
received and considered the Board's reconuuendat' it with regard to the saute; and
WHEREAS, On May 21, 1995, the L• 1dutark Preservation Commission considered the
"Standards and Guidelines for historic PI-op, tics" and recommended that they be adopted by the
Council; and
WHEREAS, the Council has de -ruined that the proposed Standards and Guidelines would
be a valuable tool in promoting the ob'eclives of the Plans and it) promoting landmark preservation
in the City; and
WHEREAS, the Couuc' has further determined that it is iu dte best interest of the citizens
of the City that the Standards and Guidelines be adopted for implementation.
NOW, THERGPO E, BE IT ORDAINED BY 'I'HE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT
COLLINS that the"Star aids and Guidelines for Historic Properties" be and hereby are adopted as
tools for furthering th- goals of the Lastside Neighborhood Plan, the Westside Neighborhood Plan
and the promotion o landmark preservation ill the City by implementation pursuant to Sections 14-
48(b)(5) and the ode of the City.
