OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
AUTHORIZING THE TRANSFER OF APPROPRIATIONS
BETWEEN CAPITAL PROJECTS IN THE CAPITAL PROJECTS FUND
WHEREAS, Article V Section 4, of the Charter of the City of Fort Collins
(the "Charter") requires that capital projects be itemized in the budget by
individual project; and
WHEREAS, the result of such itemization is that each individual capital
project in the budget is treated as a separate fund; and
WHEREAS, Article V, Section 14 of the Charter authorizes the City Council
to transfer by ordinance any unexpended appropriated amount or portion thereof
from one fund to another upon the recommendation of the City Manager, provided
that the purpose for which the transferred funds are to be expended remains
unchanged or the purpose for which the funds were initially appropriated no
longer exists; and
WHEREAS, staff has identified the need for an additional appropriation of
$213,000 in 1993 for right of way acquisition and storm sewer improvements for
the Prospect/Shields Intersection Choices 95 capital project; and
WHEREAS, staff anticipates $213,000 will be available from the $460,000
appropriated in the 1993 budget for the Prospect/College Intersection Choices 95
capital project; and
WHEREAS, in 1994, proposed appropriations for the two aforementioned
Choices 95 capital projects will be revised so as to increase the
Prospect/College Intersection appropriations by $213,000 and reduce the proposed
Prospect/Shields Intersection appropriations by $213,000 so that total
appropriations for each project remains consistent with the amounts originally
proposed in the Choices 95 program; and
WHEREAS, the City Manager has recommended that $213,000 available in the
Prospect/College Intersection Choices 95 capital project be transferred to the
Prospect/Shields Intersection Choices 95 capital project to be used for right of
way acquisition and storm sewer improvements.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
as follows:
Section 1 . That TWO HUNDRED THIRTEEN THOUSAND DOLLARS ($213,000)
previously appropriated for expenditure from the Prospect/College Intersection
Choices 95 capital project fund is no longer needed for expenditure from said
fund in 1993.
Section 2. That the foregoing unexpended appropriated amount of TWO
HUNDRED THIRTEEN THOUSAND DOLLARS ($213,000) is hereby authorized for transfer
from the Prospect/College Intersection Choices 95 capital project to the
Prospect/Shields Intersection Choices 95 capital project within the Capital
Projects Fund.
Introduced, considered favorably on first reading, and ordered published
this 20th day of April , A.D. 1993, and to be presented for final passage on the
4th day of May, A.D. 1993.
