OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASING AGENT TO ENTER INTO
A PROFESSIONAL SERVICES AGREEMENT WITH
PRICE WATERHOUSE FOR AUDITING SERVICES FOR 1988,
WITH ANNUALLY RENEWABLE TERMS FOR 1989 THROUGH 1992
WHEREAS, Article II, Section 17 of the Charter of the City of Fort
Collins provides that an annual audit shall be completed by a certified
public accountant of all books and accounts of the City; and
WHEREAS, the Purchasing Agent solicited proposals for the required
audit from area accounting firms and received fifteen (15) proposals; and
WHEREAS, the proposals were reviewed by City staff and members of the
Finance Committee and interviews of the top-ranked firms were conducted;
and
WHEREAS, Price Waterhouse has been determined to be the firm best
suited to provide the annual audit of all City books and accounts; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 8-129 of the Code of the City of Fort
Collins, no professional services agreement in excess of Twenty Thousand
Dollars ($20,000) shall be entered into until approved by the City Council
in an open Council meeting; and,
WHEREAS, Article V, Section 31 of the Charter requires that City
Council approve contracts for service for a period longer than two (2)
years.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT
COLLINS that the Purchasing Agent be, and he hereby is, authorized to enter
into a professional services agreement with Price Waterhouse for auditing
services for 1988 which agreement shall be renewable on an annual basis
through 1992 at the City's sole option, for a fee not to exceed Thirty-six
Thousand Dollars ($36,000) for 1988; Thirty-seven Thousand Four Hundred
Dollars ($37,400) for 1989; Thirty-eight Thousand Eight Hundred Dollars
($38,800) for 1990; Forty Thousand Seven Hundred Dollars ($40,700) for
1991; and Forty Thousand Seven Hundred Dollars ($40,700) for 1992.
