OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
AUTHORIZING THE TRANSFER OF APPROPRIATED AMOUNTS
FROM THE LIGHT & POWER, WATER, WASTEWATER & STORMWATER
UTILITY FUNDS TO THE GENERAL FUND AND
APPROPRIATING PRIOR YEAR RESERVES IN THE GENERAL FUND
WHEREAS, Article V, Section 15, of the Charter of the City of Fort
Collins authorizes the City Council to transfer unexpended, appropriated
amounts from one fund to another; and Article V, Section 8, of the Charter
of the City of Fort Collins authorizes the City Council to provide by
ordinance for payment of any expense from prior year reserves at any time
such reserves are available; and
WHEREAS, the City has contracted with First Interstate Bank of Fort
Collins to be the depository for City funds and to provide required banking
services; and
WHEREAS, the charge for depository services will be $0.25 for each
utility bill payment and sales/use tax return processed for a 1988 charge
of $23,100 for Utility bill payments and $1,260 for sales/use tax returns
processed; and
WHEREAS, funds to cover these charges are available in the various
Utility Funds and the General Fund undesignated reserve.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT
COLLINS that:
1. The sum of TWENTY-THREE THOUSAND ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($23, 100) of
existing appropriations is hereby transferred from the following funds:
Light & Power $13,590
Water 3,190
Wastewater 3,190
Stormwater 3.130
$23,100
to the General Fund, and appropriated for expenditure in the General Fund
for First Interstate lock box charges.
2. There is hereby appropriated for expenditure from prior year
reserves in the General Fund the total sum of ONE THOUSAND TWO HUNDRED
SIXTY DOLLARS ($1,260) for First Interstate lock box charges.
