HomeMy WebLinkAbout154 - 12/05/1995 - APPROPRIATING UNANTICIPATED REVENUE RELATED TO THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE PROPOSED 1995 ENERGY CODE R ORDINANCE NO. 154, 1995 OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS APPROPRIATING UNANTICIPATED REVENUE IN THE GENERAL FUND RELATED TO THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE PROPOSED 1995 ENERGY CODE REVISIONS WHEREAS,Council has approved on first reading Ordinance No. 153, 1995, approving the adoption of the Residential Energy Code; and WHEREAS, the City has been awarded a grant from the State of Colorado, Governor's Office of Energy Conservation in the amount of$90,000; and WHEREAS, this grant is a"first of its kind"pilot research grant offered by the State; and WHEREAS, the grant is to be used for the implementation, evaluation, and testing of the City's new Residential Energy Code package; and WHEREAS, the State is interested in providing this type of research grant to document the viability of the updated Residential Energy Code to encourage other jurisdictions to adopt revised Energy Codes; and WHEREAS,Article V, Section 14,of the Charter of the City of Fort Collins permits the City Council to appropriate by ordinance unanticipated revenue which is the result of rate or fee increases or new revenue sources at any time during the year in which such revenue is received. NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS that there is hereby appropriated for expenditure in the General Fund Building Permits & Inspections Department from unanticipated grant revenue the sum of NINETY THOUSAND DOLLARS ($90,000) for contractor and regulator training, code evaluation, and house testing.
