OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
APPROPRIATING UNANTICIPATED REVENUE IN THE
CAPTTALPR0JET_T4ETIND FROM_TJJE SALT OF
THE DOWNTOWN COMMUNITY CENTER
WHEREAS, during the planning process for the Choices 95 Capital Improvement Program,
City Council decided to sell the Downtown Community Center(the "Property")after the completion
of the new Senior Citizen Center; and
WHEREAS, a committee consisting of representatives from City staff including Facilities,
Budget, Administrative Services, and Finance Administration, reviewed the option of selling the
Property or retaining the Property for other City uses, and determined the best alternative would be
to sell the Property; and
WHEREAS,by Ordinance No. 11, 1995,the City Council authorized the sale of the Property
for $360,000, having first found that the sale was in the best interests of the City; and
WHEREAS, staff is recommending that proceeds from the sale of the Property, totalling
$360,000, be added to the $200,000 appropriated as part of the City's 1995 budget in the Capital
Projects Fund(General City Capital) for implementation of the General Services Strategic Facility
Plan, bringing the total appropriation for the said Plan to $560,000; and
WHEREAS, Article V, Section 14, of the Charter of the City of Fort Collins authorizes the
City Council to appropriate unanticipated revenues which are the result of new revenue sources at
any time during the year in which such revenue is received.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT
COLLINS that there is hereby appropriated for expenditure from unanticipated revenue in the
Capital Projects Fund, Facilities Master Plan Land Acquisition capital project, the sum of THREE
HUNDRED SIXTY-THREE THOUSAND DOLLARS ($360,000) to be used for implementation
of the General Services Strategic Facility Plan.
Introduced, considered favorably on first reading, and ordered published this 7th day of
February, A.D. 1995 and to be presented for final passage on the 21 st day of February, A.D. 1995.
