HomeMy WebLinkAbout116 - 09/19/1995 - APPROPRIATING UNANTICIPATED REVENUE IN THE GENERAL FUND FOR POLICE SERVICES ORDINANCE NO. 116, 1995 OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS APPROPRIATING UNANTICIPATED REVENUE IN THE GENERAL FUND FOR POLICE SERVICES WHEREAS, the City of Fort Collins has received a United States Department of Justice grant totalling $225,000 over a three year grant period for the COPS AHEAD Grant; and WHEREAS, this grant will provide partial funding for three additional police officers for three years; and WHEREAS, the first year grant funds total $75,000 with a requirement for local matching funds in the amount of$47,940; and WHEREAS, Police Services has identified $47,940 in its 1995 budget to provide the first year matching funds required by the grant; and WHEREAS,Article V,Section 14 of the Charter of the City of Fort Collins permits the City Council to appropriate by ordinance unanticipated revenue which is the result of rate or fee increases or new revenue sources at any time during the year in which such revenue is received. NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS that there is hereby appropriated for expenditure in the General Fund from unanticipated revenue in the General Fund the sum of SEVENTY FIVE THOUSAND DOLLARS ($75,000) for Police Services for the partial funding of three police positions for one year.
