OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
AMENDING SECTION 2-427 OF THE CODE OF THE
CITY OF FORT COLLINS TO INCREASE THE
MEMBERSHIP OF THE TRANSPORTATION BOARD
WHEREAS, the Transportation Board(the "Board") was established by the City Council to
advise the Council on matters pertaining to the City's transportation policies and system including,
but not limited to, transportation planning, alternative modes planning (including bikeways,
pedestrian facilities, transit, air transportation, and van and car pooling), capital improvement
projects,downtown parking management, and other transportation issues as identified in the Board's
work plan; and
WHEREAS, the Board also reviews the City's interaction with federal, state and county
government, as well as North Front Range Transportation and Air Quality Planning Council,
Colorado State University, and Poudre R-1 on transportation-related issues; and
WHEREAS,the Council's 1995-97 Policy Agenda places a high priority on transportation
related issues; and
WHEREAS, at its July 19, 1995 meeting, the Board voted to recommend that the
membership of the Board be increased from nine (9) members to eleven (11) members to provide
for more diverse representation on the Board and to better accommodate the Board's increasing
workload; and
WHEREAS, the City Council believes that it would be in the best interests of the City to
accept this recommendation.
NOW,THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT
COLLINS that Section 2-427(a) of the Code of the City of Fort Collins be amended to read as
follows:
Sec. 2-427. Membership; term.
(a) The board shall consist of eleven (11) members appointed by the City
Council.
Introduced, considered favorably on first reading, and ordered published this 1st day of
August, A.D. 1995, and to be presented for final passage on t� day of August, tj 5.
