HomeMy WebLinkAbout162 - 11/15/1994 - DESIGNATING 546 WILLOW AS A HISTORIC LANDMARK ORDINANCE NO. 162, 1994 OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS DESIGNATING 546 WILLOW STREET AS A HISTORIC LANDMARK DISTRICT PURSUANT TO CHAPTER 14 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 14-2 of the City Code, the City Council has established a public policy encouraging the protection, enhancement and perpetuation of historic landmarks within the City; and WHEREAS, by Resolution dated October 11, 1994, the Landmark Preservation Commission ("Commission") has determined that the structures/buildings at 546 Willow Street (known as the Ranch-Way Feed Mills) have significant historical and architectural importance to the City; and WHEREAS, the Commission has further determined that said structures/buildings and their surrounding environs meet the criteria of a landmark district as set forth in Section 14-5 of the Code and are eligible for designation as a local landmark district, and has recommended to the City Council that said structures/buildings and their surrounding environs be designated by the City Council as a local landmark district; and WHEREAS, the owner of the property has consented to such landmark designation; and WHEREAS, such landmark designation will preserve the property's significance to the community; and WHEREAS, the City Council has reviewed the recommendation of the Commission and desires to approve such recommendation and designate said property as a historic landmark district. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS as follows: Section 1 . That the lands located in the City of Fort Collins, Larimer County, Colorado, described as follows, to wit: Beginning at the SE corner of Block 15 in the city of Fort Collins, Colorado, thence N. 88 35' E. 78 feet, thence N. 18 15' E. 72 feet, thence N. 71 20' W. 32 feet, thence N. 41 00' E. 71 feet, thence W. 64 feet, thence N. 49 00' W. 203 feet, thence S. 41 00' W. 136 feet, thence N. 49 00' W. 70.00 feet, thence S. 41 00' W. 32 feet, thence S. 49 00' E. 129 feet, thence S. 58 40' E. 193 feet to the point of beginning. Beginning at a point which is North 88 35' East a distance of 78 feet from the Southeast corner of Block 15, City of Fort Collins, Colorado, (which corner is the most Southerly corner of said block) and running thence North 18 15' East 72 feet, thence North 71 20' West 32 feet, thence North 41 east 83 feet, thence South 48 50' East 33.10 feet, thence South 18 15' West 115.30 feet, thence South 74 35' West 37 feet to the point of the beginning, containing 0. 121 acre more or less, except any property that lies North of the North line of the Southwest 1/4. Section 12, Township 7 North, Range 69 West of the 6th P.M. Beginning at the Southwest corner of Block 15, City of Fort Collins, Colorado. (which corner is the most Southerly of said Block) and running thence North 58 40' West 150 feet, thence South 31 20' West 16 feet, thence South 58 40' East 108.45 feet, thence south 71 20' East 41.35 feet and thence North 41 10' East 7.04 feet to the point of the beginning, containing 0.05 acre more or less. Beginning at the Southeast corner of Block 15, City of Fort Collins, Colorado, (which corner is the most Southerly corner of said Block) and running thence North 88 35' East 78 feet, thence South 74 35' West 59.40 feet, thence 71 20' West 26.75 feet and thence North 41 10' East 7.04 feet to the point of beginning, containing 0.015 acre more or less. A portion of Lots 12, 14 and 16, Block 15, City of Fort Collins, Colorado, together with a portion of vacated Chestnut Street abutting on said Lot 16, all of which is more particularly described by metes and bounds as follows: Beginning at the most Southerly corner of Lot 12, and running thence North 41 10' East along the Southeasterly line of Lot 12, 120 feet, thence North 48 50' West 197 feet, thence South 41 10' West 120 feet to the Southwesterly line of Block 15 extended, and thence South 48 50' East 197 feet to the point of the beginning, be, and hereby are, designated as a historic landmark district pursuant to Chapter 14 of the Code of the City of Fort Collins. Section 2. That the Secretary of the Interior's Standards for Rehabilitation and Guidelines for Rehabilitating Historic Buildings (U.S. Department of the Interior, National Park Service, Revised 1983) shall serve as the standards by which alterations, additions and other changes to the structures/buildings located upon the above described property shall be reviewed for compliance with Chapter 14, Article III, of the Code of the City of Fort Collins.
