OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
APPROPRIATING UNANTICIPATED REVENUE IN THE
TRANSIT SERVICES FUND FOR CAPITAL AND PLANNING
WHEREAS, Article V, Section 14, of the Charter of the City of Fort Collins
(the "Charter") authorizes the City Council to appropriate unanticipated revenues
which are the result of new revenue sources at any time during the year in which
such revenue is received; and
WHEREAS, the 1994 Transit Services budget includes an appropriation of
$578,303, which was approved as part of the City's annual budget appropriation
ordinance, and represents projected federal grant money from the Federal Transit
Administration (FTA) ; and
WHEREAS,- the 1994 budget for the Transit Services Fund was determined prior
to 'knowing what- the federal apportionment from theFTA- would- be and-
WHEREAS, additional FTA funds, totalling $232,108 are available in the 1994
Section 9 Grant; and
WHEREAS, the aforementioned funds can be used for capital and planning
purposes; and
WHEREAS, local matching funds, totalling $58,027, are available in the
Transit Services Fund and can be used with the federal dollars for two
replacement mini-buses, computer hardware and software, bus shelters, roof
rehabilitation at the transit facility, the 1996-2000 Transportation Development
Program (TOP), a space needs analysis, and other capital and planning purposes.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
that upon the City's receipt of the sum of TWO HUNDRED THIRTY-TWO THOUSAND ONE
HUNDRED EIGHT DOLLARS ($232,108) in Federal Transit Administration 1994 Section
9 Grant funds, said sum is hereby appropriated for expenditure from unanticipated
revenue in the Transit Services Fund to be used for capital and planning
purposes.
