OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
APPROPRIATING PRIOR YEAR RESERVES
FOR SPECIAL LIBRARY PROJECTS
WHEREAS, the Fort Collins Public Library ("the Library") receives monetary
gifts and donations on an ongoing_ basis; and
WHEREAS, this revenue is accounted for in the General Fund Reserve for
Library Donations; and
WHEREAS, the Library Donations revenue is used to fund special projects
such as the Children's Summer Reading Program, Local History Photograph Fund and
Friends of the Library reimbursed library projects; and
WHEREAS, an additional $30,000 is required to meet anticipated special
project needs through the end of the year; and
WHEREAS, there are adequate funds in the Reserve for Library Donations to
fund this request; and
WHEREAS, Article V, Section 7 of the Charter authorizes the City Council
to provide by ordinance for payment of any expense from reserves accumulated in
prior years notwithstanding that such reserves were not appropriated for
expenditure in the annual appropriation ordinance.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
that there is hereby appropriated for expenditure from the prior year reserve for
Library Donations in the General Fund the sum of THIRTY THOUSAND DOLLARS
($30,000) to be used for special Library projects through the end of 1994.
Introduced, considered favorably on first reading, and ordered published
this 2nd day of August, A.D. , 1994, and to be presented for final passa on the
16th day of August, A.D. , 1994.
