OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
APPROPRIATING $50,000 INTO THE TRANSIT SERVICES FUND
FOR THE PURPOSE OF PROVIDING PARATRANSIT SERVICES TO
DISABLED AND ELDERLY CITIZENS OF THE FORT COLLINS
URBAN GROWTH AREA FOR THE REMAINDER OF 1993
WHEREAS, the City of Fort Collins provides paratransit services to disabled
and elderly citizens in the Fort Collins Urban Growth Area by procuring these
services from Care-A-Van, Inc. ; and
WHEREAS, the cost of providing these paratransit services has increased
beyond original expectations because of the increase in demand for services, the
requirements of the Americans With Disabilities Act and increases in Care-A-Van
operating expenses; and
WHEREAS, an additional $68,622 is needed to fund the provision of
paratransit services to disabled and elderly citizens of the Fort Collins Urban
Growth Area for the remainder of 1993; and
WHEREAS, $18,622 is available in the Transfort Operating Budget, and an
additional $50,000 is available in the Capital Projects Fund for ADA
Compliance/Disabled Accessibility for appropriation to the Transit Service Fund
for these purposes; and
WHEREAS, Article V, Section 14, of the Charter of the City of Fort Collins
provides that during the budget year, the Council may, by ordinance, upon the
recommendation of the City Manager, transfer any unexpended appropriated amount
or portion thereof from one fund to another provided that the purpose for which
the transferred funds are to be expended remains unchanged or the purpose for
which the funds were initially appropriated no longer exists; and
WHEREAS, the City Manager recommends this transfer and the provision of
paratransit services is included within the purposes for which the $50,000 is to
be expended.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
that Fifty Thousand Dollars ($50,000) from the Capital Projects Fund is hereby
transferred to and appropriated in the Transit Services Fund for the purpose of
providing paratransit services to disabled and elderly citizens of the Fort
Collins Urban Growth Area for the remainder of 1993.
Introduced, considered favorably on first reading, and ordered published
this 17th day of August, A.D. 1993, and to be present r final age on the
7th day of September, A.D. 1993.
