OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
BEING AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 26 OF
THE CODE OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS RELATING
TO RATES FOR THE WASTEWATER UTILITY
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS:
Section 1 . That Section 26-280 of the Code of the City of Fort
Collins is repealed and reenacted as follows:
"Sec. 26-280. Service charges established by category.
The schedule of rates for each category described in §26-279 shall
be as follows:
Category Class of Customer Rate
A Single-family residential $11 .26 per month
user (either flat rate or
metered water use) .
B Duplex (two-family) residential $18.34 per month
users (either flat rate or
metered water use) .
C Multifamily residential user $1 .00 per 1,000 gallons
(more than two dwelling units of winter quarter water
including mobile home parks) use, with a minimum charge
and winter quarter based of $4.17 per month per
nonresidential user. dwelling unit served
D Minor nonresidential user. $1 .00 per 1,000 gallons
of water use, with a
minimum charge as follows:

E Intermediate nonresidential user. $1 .00 per 1,000 gallons

is applicable; plus a
surcharge of $0.577
per million gallons for
each milligram per liter
of suspended solids in
excess of 250 milligrams
per liter; plus a surcharge
of $0.464 per million gal -
lons for each milligram per
liter of BOD in excess of
200 milligrams per liter or
a surcharge of $0.309 per
million gallons for each
milligram per liter of COD
in excess of 300 milligrams
per liter, whichever is
applicable. A minimum
charge would also be made,
if applicable, as follows:

Section 2. That Section 26-282(a) of the Code of the City of Fort
Collins is repealed and reenacted as follows:
"(a) The schedule of wastewater strength surcharges shall be as
follows:
Excess Over Rate per

COD 300 0.000309
TSS 250 0.000577"
Section 3. That Section 26-289 of the Code of the City of Fort
Collins is repealed and reenacted as follows:
"Sec. 26-289. Miscellaneous fees and charges.
The following is a schedule of miscellaneous fees and charges:
Description Amount
(1) Industrial discharge permits:
a. Administration $56.00 annually
b. Surveillance Determined for each user
annually, billed monthly
(2) Laboratory support services Determined on a
case-by-case basis
(3) Materials and labor provided Cost plus 15%
by City
(4) Charges for disposal at the
Fort Collins Regional Sanitary
Waste Transfer Station:
a. Septic tanks, vaults, privies,
portable toilets:
Generated within Larimer County $.05 per gallon
Generated outside Larimer County $.075 per gallon
b. Recreational vehicle sanitary
waste holding tanks:
Customers of the City of Fort
Collins Wastewater Utility No charge
Others $2.00 base fee plus $.05
per gallon
(5) Miscellaneous fees Determined on a
case-by-case basis"
Section 4. The amendments recited herein shall become effective on
all billings rendered on or after January 1 , 1988 relating to services
provided during the month of December, 1987, and thereafter.
Introduced, considered favorably on first reading, and ordered
published this 6th day of October, A.D. 1987, and to be presented for final
passage on the 20th day of October, A.D. 1987.
