HomeMy WebLinkAbout082 - 08/07/1990 - AMENDING CITY CODE RELATING TO THE GOLF BOARD AND THE PLANNING AND ZONING BOARD ORDINANCE NO. 82, 1990 OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS AMENDING CHAPTER 2 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS RELATING TO THE GOLF BOARD AND THE PLANNING AND ZONING BOARD WHEREAS, on July 3, 1990, the City Council adopted Resolution 90-100 establishing a policy for the elimination of alternate positions on boards and commissions; and WHEREAS, Resolution 90-100 provides that the Council liaison assigned to each board or commission which currently has alternate positions shall make a recommendation for changes in the composition of the board or commission to which he or she is assigned, in order to achieve the eventual elimination of alternate positions; and WHEREAS, the Council liaisons to the Golf Board and the Planning and Zoning Board are recommending that the alternate position on each respective board be eliminated at this time. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS as follows: Section 1. That Section 2-232 of the Code relating to the Golf Board be amended to read as follows: Sec. 2-232. Membership; term. (a) The board shall consist of seven (7) members appointed by the City Council . Appointments shall specify the term of office of each individual in order to achieve overlapping tenure. (b) Each member shall serve a term of four (4) years without compensation. All members shall be subject to removal by the City Council . If a vacancy occurs on the board, it shall be filled by the City Council for the remaining unexpired portion of the term. Section 6. That Section 2-352 of the Code relating to the Planning and Zoning Board be amended to read as follows: Sec. 2-352. Membership; term. (a) The board shall consist of seven (7) members appointed by the City Council . Appointments shall specify the term of office of each individual in order to achieve overlapping tenure. (b) Each member shall serve a term of four (4) years without compensation. All members shall be subject to removal by the City Council . If a vacancy occurs on the board, it shall be filled by the City Council for the remaining unexpired portion of the term.
