OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
APPROPRIATING UNANTICIPATED REVENUE
IN THE GENERAL FUND
WHEREAS, Article V, Section 15, of the Charter of the City of Fort
Collins authorizes the City Council to appropriate unanticipated revenue at
any time during the year in which such revenue is received; and
WHEREAS, the Library has been awarded a United States Department of
Education grant in the amount of $25,000 for the continuation of adult
literacy activities through 1991 ; and
WHEREAS, the Library has received a United States Department of
Education grant in the amount of $24,393 for the continuation of the
literacy program provided to low-literate, unemployed Fort Collins
residents; and
WHEREAS , the Library has been awarded Library Services and
Construction Act funds in the amount of $9,731 to support adult literacy
activities for minority citizens; and
WHEREAS, the Library will also receive $26,601 as part of a National
Workplace Literacy grant awarded to Lutheran Family Services.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT
COLLINS that there is hereby appropriated for expenditure from
unanticipated revenue in the General Fund the sum of EIGHTY-FIVE THOUSAND
SEVEN HUNDRED TWENTY FIVE DOLLARS ($85,725) for expenditures as follows:
a. Twenty-five Thousand Dollars ($25,000) for the continuation of
adult literacy activities through 1991 .
b. Twenty-four Thousand Three Hundred Ninety-three Dollars ($24,393)
for the continuation of the literacy program provided to low-literate,
unemployed Fort Collins residents.
c. Nine Thousand Seven Hundred Thirty-one Dollars ($9,731) for the
support of adult literacy activities for minority citizens.
d. Twenty-six Thousand Six Hundred One Dollars ($26,601) for
workplace literacy services.
Introduced, considered favorably on first reading, and ordered
published this 17th day of July, A.D. 1990, and to be presented for final
passage on the 7th day of August, A.D. 1990.
