HomeMy WebLinkAbout076 - 07/17/1990 - APPROPRIATING UNANTICIPATED REVENUE IN THE CAPITAL PROJECTS FUND FOR A RESOURCE ASSESSMENT OF THE PO ORDINANCE NO. 76, 1990 OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS APPROPRIATING UNANTICIPATED REVENUE IN THE CAPITAL PROJECTS FUND FOR A RESOURCE ASSESSMENT OF THE POUDRE RIVER IN PREPARATION FOR NATIONAL HERITAGE CORRIDOR (NHC) DESIGNATION WHEREAS, Article V, Section 15, of the Charter of the City of Fort Collins (the "Charter") authorizes the City Council to appropriate by ordinance unanticipated revenue received as a result of new revenue sources at anytime during the year; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution 90-56, Council directed staff to take such actions as are necessary to obtain National Heritage Corridor designation for portions of the Poudre River; and WHEREAS, the National Park Service must undertake a Resource Assessment of the Poudre River study area as a preliminary step toward such designation; and WHEREAS, the cost of said Resource Assessment is $25,000; and WHEREAS, Larimer County, Colorado State University and the Northern Colorado Water Conservancy District will each contribute $5,000 towards the cost of the Resource Assessment with the City providing the remaining $10,000 from funds previously appropriated in the National Heritage Corridor project within the Capital Projects Fund; and WHEREAS, Resolution 90-103 authorized the Mayor to execute an Intergovernmental agreement with the National Park Service for the purpose of conducting a Resource Assessment of the historic, cultural and environmental resources of the Poudre River Basin for the purposes of advance planning for National Heritage Corridor designation. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS that there is hereby appropriated from unanticipated revenue in the Capital Projects Fund, the sum of FIFTEEN THOUSAND DOLLARS ($15,000) to be used, together with the City's previously appropriated contribution of Ten Thousand Dollars ($10,000) , for a Resource Assessment of portions of the Poudre River in preparation for National Heritage Corridor (NHC) designation. This appropriation is expressly contingent upon the City's receipt of the aforementioned unanticipated revenue in the amount of FIVE THOUSAND DOLLARS ($5,000) each from Larimer County, Colorado State University and the Northern Colorado Water Conservancy District on or before September 15, 1990.
