HomeMy WebLinkAbout072 - 07/17/1990 - APPROPRIATING PRIOR YEAR RESERVES AND AUTHORIZING THE TRANSFER OF APPROPRIATIONS BETWEEN CAPITAL PRO ORDINANCE NO. 72, 1990 OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS APPROPRIATING PRIOR YEAR RESERVES AND AUTHORIZING THE TRANSFER OF APPROPRIATIONS BETWEEN CAPITAL PROJECTS WITHIN THE PARKLAND FUND WHEREAS, Article V, Section 8, of the Charter of the City of Fort Collins authorizes the City Council to provide by ordinance for payment of any expense from reserves accumulated in prior years, notwithstanding that such reserves were not appropriated for expenditure in the annual appropriation ordinance; and WHEREAS, during 1985 and succeeding years income of approximately Twenty-two Thousand Dollars ($22,000) has been received from the rental of property at Rogers Park; and WHEREAS, Article V, Section 5, of the Charter of the City of Fort Collins requires that capital projects be itemized in the budget by individual project; and WHEREAS, the result of such itemization is that each individual capital project in the budget is treated as a separate fund; and WHEREAS, Article V, Section 15 of the Charter authorizes the City Council to transfer by ordinance any unexpended appropriated amounts or portion thereof from one fund to another upon the recommendation of the City Manager, provided that the purpose for the initial expenditure of said funds no longer exists; and WHEREAS, One Hundred Twenty Thousand Dollars ($120,000) was saved during the construction of Troutman Park; and WHEREAS, the City Manager has recommended that Seventy-eight Thousand Dollars ($78,000) be transferred from Troutman Park savings to the Rogers Parks Project. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS as follows: Section 1 . That there is hereby appropriated from prior year reserves in the Parkland Fund the sum of TWENTY-TWO THOUSAND DOLLARS ($22,000) for construction of Rogers Park. Section 2. That the unexpended appropriated amount of SEVENTY-EIGHT THOUSAND DOLLARS ($78,000) be authorized for transfer from the Troutman Park capital project to the Rogers Park capital project within the Parkland Fund.
