OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
APPROPRIATING PRIOR YEAR RESERVES IN THE GENERAL FUND
WHEREAS, Article V, Section 8, of the Charter of the City of Fort
Collins (the "Charter") authorizes the City Council to provide by ordinance
for payment of any expense from reserves accumulated in prior years,
notwithstanding that such reserves were not appropriated for expenditure in
the annual appropriation ordinance; and
WHEREAS, in accordance with Ordinance No. 127, 1989, lodging tax
revenues are to be allocated as follows: 75% for the promotion of
convention and visitor activities, and 25% for cultural development and
programming activities; and
WHEREAS, Cultural Development and Programming funds are used to foster
and encourage certain events which will promote tourism, conventions and
other activities which utilize public accommodations within the City; and
WHEREAS, the Cultural Development and Programming Account had funds
from prior years allocations which were not spent in 1989 and should be
made available to it in 1990; and
WHEREAS, said funds in the amount of $19,873 are available in the
General Fund Restricted Reserve for Cultural Development.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT
COLLINS, that there is hereby appropriated from prior year reserves in the
General Fund the sum of NINETEEN THOUSAND EIGHT HUNDRED SEVENTY THREE
DOLLARS ($19,873) for activities associated with cultural development and
programming.
Introduced, considered favorably on first reading, and ordered
published this 3rd day of July, A.D. 1990, and to be presented for final
passage on the 17th day of July, A.D. 1990.
