OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
AUTHORIZING A CONTRACT FOR MAINTENANCE OF THE
XEROX 4050 LASER PRINTING SYSTEM FOR A
TERM OF FIVE YEARS
WHEREAS, in February of 1990, the City issued an invitation for bids for
the purchase of a laser printing system and, as an option, maintenance after
expiration of warranty; and
WHEREAS, the City received two (2) bids and awarded the purchase contract
to Xerox; and
WHEREAS, the City wishes to exercise its option to obtain maintenance
services for this printer over the next five years from Xerox; and
WHEREAS, the total cost for 1991 is $13,680.00, which amount has been
budgeted, appropriated and will be available for expenditure in the Information
and Communication Services Department, Communications Fund; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Article V, Section 31 of the Charter of the City of
Fort Collins and Section 8-186 of the Code of the City of Fort Collins, no
contract for services or professional services, including all renewals, shall
be for a period longer than two (2) years unless authorized by ordinance.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
that an agreement between the City and Xerox Corporation for the performance of
full service maintenance on the Xerox 4050 laser printer for a maximum period
of five (5) years, at an annual cost of Thirteen Thousand Six Hundred Eighty and
No/100 Dollars ($13,680.00) in 1991 and, thereafter, not to exceed an annual
increase of seven percent (7%) over the 1991 cost, be, and hereby is, authorized.
Introduced, considered favorably on first reading, and ordered published
this 6th day of November, A.D. 1990, and to be presented for final passage on
the 20th day of November, A.D. 1990.
