OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
APPROPRIATING THIRTY THOUSAND ONE HUNDRED EIGHTY-SIX
DOLLARS ($30,186) FROM PRIOR YEAR RESERVES IN THE DDA
OPERATIONS AND MAINTENANCE FUND TO PROVIDE A TROLLEY
SHUTTLE SERVICE BETWEEN VARIOUS POINTS OF THE CITY AND
THE CENTRAL BUSINESS DISTRICT WHICH WILL BE BENEFICIAL
TO THE DOWNTOWN AREA
WHEREAS, the Fort Collins Downtown Development Authority (DDA) has
been duly organized in accordance with the Section 31-25-804, C.R.S. ; and
WHEREAS, primary objectives and purposes of the DDA include sustaining
and improving the economic vitality of the downtown district, relieving
traffic congestion, and encouraging the use of mass transit systems; and
WHEREAS, a specific objective of the Plan of Development, adopted by
the DDA and the Council of the City of Fort Collins on September 8, 1981,
is the introduction of programs to reduce the need for parking, including a
shuttle system and park-and-ride lots; and
WHEREAS, the City, Downtown Business Association and DDA have been
working together on a proposal to establish a motorized trolley service.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT
COLLINS that the amount of THIRTY THOUSAND ONE HUNDRED EIGHTY-SIX DOLLARS
($30,186) is hereby appropriated from prior year reserves in the DDA
Operations and Maintenance Fund to provide a trolley shuttle service
between various points of the City and the central business district.
Introduced, considered favorably on first reading, and ordered
published this 17th day of May, A.D. 1988, and to be presented for final
passage on the 7th day of June, A.D. 1988.
