HomeMy WebLinkAbout062 - 05/03/1988 - ADOPTING RULES AND REGULATIONS GOVERNING THE USE OF PARKS, OPEN SPACES AND TRAILS ORDINANCE NO. 62 , 1988 OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS ADOPTING THE RULES AND REGULATIONS GOVERNING THE USE OF PARKS, OPEN SPACES AND TRAILS WHEREAS, Section 23-201 of the Code of the City of Fort Collins states that the government and control of the general public in the use and enjoyment of the public parks or the City-owned golf courses and areas designated by the City as open spaces or trails, either within or without the city limits, shall be in accordance with rules and regulations adopted by the City Council by ordinance; and WHEREAS, the City Council desires to adopt certain rules and regulations to govern the use and enjoyment of the parks, open spaces and trails. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS that the following rules and regulations are hereby adopted to govern and control the general public's use and enjoyment of public parks, open spaces or trails or facilities located therein: 1 . No person shall enter or remain in any parkland, open space or trail area or facility located therein, or conduct himself in the same in violation of any order, rule or regulation limiting or prohibiting the use, activities or conduct on such property issued by the Director of Cultural , Library and Recreational Services after having been notified of the same by a sign posted at the main entrance to the area or other conspicuous location or personal notification by a representative of the Parks and Recreation Department or a police officer. 2. No person shall operate or park a motor vehicle in such areas anywhere other than on established roadways and in designated parking areas unless authorized by the City. 3. No person shall walk, skate or otherwise enter on the ice on any waters in such areas unless signs have been posted by the City, indicating that the area is open for such activities. 4. No person shall swim, bathe or wade in the waters in any such area unless signs have been posted by the City, indicating that the area is open for such activities. 5. No person shall drive, hit or throw golf balls in any such areas. 6. No person shall sell or offer to sell any item for commercial gain in such areas without a permit or grant of concession rights from the City. 7. No person shall utilize any such area to conduct a service for commercial gain without a permit from the City. 8. No person shall bring any glass beverage bottles or containers into such areas or have the same in their possession while in such areas. 9. No person shall use trash receptacles located in such areas for the dumping of home- or business-generated trash. 10. No person shall wash dishes or vehicles, empty waste materials or in any manner pollute the water in any such areas.
