That Section 26 97(e) of tode of a City of Fort Collins be, and the same hereby is, amended tvide a follows:(e) Meter settings. For all connectmad to the water utility there shall be installed in the service meter-set;-regardless o€-whether-the-part4eular-serv4ee-requ4water-meter:--The-meter set--shall--be--4Rstalled-in-aeesrdanee- --the--rules;--regulatiens; pel4eies-er--preeedures-ef--the-at414ty; be-read4ly-aeeess4ble-te ut414ty--personnel;-away--from gees-anhes-and-eutside--fenees: WATER METER IN A LOCATION DETERMINED A FOLLOWS: (1) RESIDENTIAL. ALL RESIDEN IAL SERVICES REQUIRING A THREE-QUARTER (3/4) INCH OR NE (1) INCH WATER METER SHALL HAVE THE METER INSTALLED INS E THE PRINCIPAL STRUCTURE UNLESS OTHERWISE AGREED UPON IN WRITING BY THE DIRECTOR. ALL RESIDENTIAL SERVICES UIRING A WATER METER LARGER THAN ONE (1) INCH SHALL HAVE E METER INSTALLED IN AN OUTSIDE METER PIT. ALL INSTALLAT NS SHALL BE IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE RULES, REGULATIONS, POLIC S OR PROCEDURES OF THE UTILITY. (2) NONRESIDENTIAL. NONRESIDENTIAL SERVICES REQUIRING A THREE-QUARTER /4) INCH OR ONE (1) INCH WATER METER MAY HAVE THE METER I TALLED EITHER OUTSIDE OR INSIDE THE PRINCIPAL STRUCTURE. LL NONRESIDENTIAL SERVICES REQUIRING A WATER METER LARGER THA ONE (1) INCH SHALL HAVE THE METER INSTALLED IN AN OUTSIDE TER PIT. ALL INSTALLATIONS SHALL BE IN ACCORDANCE WITH T RULES, REGULATIONS, POLICIES OR PROCEDURES OF THE UTILIT . Section 2. That Section 26-98 of the Code of the City of Fort Collins be, and the s e hereby is, amended to read as follows: Sec. -98. Water meters; requirements and installation. Water meters shall be required for the following services: (1) All residential services to-any-premises-eoRta4R4Rg-more-than two-{2)-14v4R9-aR4tsa FOR WHICH WATER AND SEWER SERVICE PERMIT FEES ARE PAID AFTER JANUARY 1, 1988; (2) All services to nonresidential premises; (3) All services outside the corporate city limits. T a;led +0 bass I�l ilg� (b) A residential customer who is receiving unmetered water service may have a meter installed upon written application to the utility. and-payment-of-any-required-#ees-or-eharges-. THE UTILITY WILL PAY THE ACTUAL COST OF INSTALLING A METER UP TO THE AMOUNT PRESCRIBED IN SECTION 26-129. (C) ONCE A RESIDENCE IS METERED IT MAY NOT BE CHANGED TO AN UNMETERED RESIDENCE, EXCEPT THAT A RESIDENTIAL CUSTOMER WHO IS NOT REQUIRED TO HAVE A METER PURSUANT TO THIS CHAPTER, BUT WHO HAS VOLUNTARILY HAD A METER INSTALLED IN HIS RESIDENCE, MAY CONVERT SUCH RESIDENCE BACK TO A FLAT RATE PROVIDED THAT SUCH CONVERSION MUST BE MADE WITHIN TWELVE (12) MONTHS FROM THE DATE OF INSTALLATION OF THE METER. (eD) All water meters and setting devices shall be a type, size and design approved by the Director and furnished by the utility. Each meter shall be inspected and properly adjusted by the utility prior to installation. The-ewner-4s-fespensible-for-installation-e€-the-meter settings--but--the--utility--shall-install--the--meter--at--the--ewner=s expense: (dE) The water meter is the property of the water utility. The utility shall maintain, test and repair all meters as necessary. A meter may be inspected at any reasonable time by the utility. Section 3. That Section 26-129 of the Code of the City of Fort Collins be amended by the addition of new subparagraphs (e) and (f) to provide as follows: (E) CHARGES FOR METERS AND INSTALLATION THEREOF FOR NEW ACCOUNTS SHALL BE AS FOLLOWS: (1) 3/4 INCH METER INDOORS . . . . . . . $72.00 (2) 3/4 INCH METER OUTDOORS . . . . . . 59.00 (3) 1 INCH METER INDOORS . . . . . . . . . 96.00 (4) 1 INCH METER OUTDOORS . . . . . . . . 90.00 (5) METERS LARGER THAN 1 INCH AND ANY OTHER MATERIALS FURNISHED BY THE WATER UTILITY SHALL BE CHARGED TO THE CUSTOMER BASED UPON THE ACTUAL COST INCURRED BY THE UTILITY. (F) THE WATER UTILITY SHALL CONTRIBUTE UP TO FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($500.) TOWARD THE COST OF VOLUNTARY INSTALLATION OF A WATER METER IN A RESIDENCE WHICH WAS PREVIOUSLY UNMETERED. Section 4. That Section 29-679(a) be amended by the addition of a new Paragraph (5) , to provide as follows and by subsequent renumbering accordingly: (5) ALL CITY WATER UTILITY CONNECTIONS AND FACILITIES INTEGRATED INTO THE PLUMBING OF A STRUCTURE, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION, CURB STOPS , METERS , METER YOKES , METER WIRING AND OTHER RELATED APPURTENANCES , SHALL BE INSTALLED IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE SPECIFICATIONS OF THE WATER UTILITY AND SHALL BE INSPECTED AND APPROVED BY WATER UTILITY PERSONNEL PRIOR TO ISSUANCE OF A CERTIFICATE OF OCCUPANCY.
