OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
APPROPRIATING UNANTICIPATED REVENUE IN THE
STREETS DEPARTMENT PORTION OF THE TRANSPORTATION FUND
FOR THE WORK FOR OTHERS PROGRAM
WHEREAS, Article V, Section 14, of the Charter of the City of Fort Collins
(the "Charter") authorizes the City Council to appropriate by ordinance
unanticipated revenue received from new revenue sources at any time during the
budget year; and
WHEREAS, the Streets Department, through its Work for Others program,
contracts with other City departments and divisions to provide patching,
sweeping, and minor capital construction, drainage facility maintenance, signing,
and painting services on a cost/reimbursement basis; and
WHEREAS, the requests for said services have surpassed the funds
appropriated as part of the 1992 budget in the Work for Others program; and
WHEREAS, the Streets Department anticipates needing additional
appropriations totalling Six Hundred Fifty Thousand Dollars ($650,000) in order
to complete their projected work plan for 1992; and
WHEREAS, the total amount of revenue to be received from City departments
and divisions requesting work of the Streets Department is also estimated to be
Six Hundred Fifty Thousand Dollars ($650,000) .
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS,
that there is hereby appropriated for expenditure from unanticipated revenue in
the Streets Department portion of the Transportation Fund the sum of Six Hundred
Fifty Thousand Dollars ($650,000) to be used in conjunction with previously
appropriated funds for the Work for Others program. The appropriation is
contingent upon the Streets Department's actual receipt of the aforementioned
unanticipated revenue, and the amounts hereby appropriated shall in no event
exceed the amounts actually received by the Streets Department from City
departments and divisions requesting work.
Introduced, considered favorably on first reading, and ordered published
this 15th day of September, A.D. 1992, and to be presented for final passage on
the 6th day of October, A.D. 1992. /
