OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
AMENDING THE CODE OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
RELATING TO THE WATER BOARD
WHEREAS, on July 3, 1990, the City Council adopted Resolution 90-100
establishing a policy for the elimination of alternate positions on boards and
commissions; and
WHEREAS, Resolution 90-100 provides that the Council liaison assigned to
each board or commission which currently has alternate positions shall make a
recommendation for changes in the composition of the board or commission to which
he or she is assigned in order to achieve the eventual elimination of alternate
positions; and
WHEREAS, the Council liaison to the Water Board is recommending that the
two (2) alternate positions on the Water Board be eliminated by changing the
composition of the Board from ten (10) regular members and two (2) alternates
to eleven (11) regular members.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
as follows:
Section 1 . That Section 2-427 of the Code relating to the Water Board be
amended to read as follows:
Sec. 2-427. Membership; term.
(a) The board shall consist of eleven (11) members appointed by
the City Council . Appointments shall specify the term of office of
each individual in order to achieve overlapping tenure.
(b) Each member shall serve a term of four (4) years without
compensation. All members shall be subject to removal by the City
Council . If a vacancy occurs on the board, it shall be filled by the
City Council for the remaining unexpired portion of the term.
(c) No member shall serve more than three (3) consecutive four (4)
year terms.
Section 2. That the effective date of this ordinance shall be July 1,
1991 .

7th day May, A.D. 1991 .
