OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
APPROPRIATING UNANTICIPATED REVENUE IN THE RECREATION FUND, r
APPROPRIATING PRIOR YEAR RESERVES IN THE GENERAL FUND
AND AUTHORIZING THE TRANSFER OF APPROPRIATED
AMOUNTS TO THE RECREATION FUND FOR THE
OPERATION OF THE FORT COLLINS COMMUNITY
POOL FROM JUNE 1 THROUGH DECEMBER 31, 1991
WHEREAS, under the 1991 budget, funds were appropriated for the renovation
of the Fort Collins Community Pool , which renovation was scheduled to begin at
the end of May 1991 ; and
WHEREAS, the adopted 1991 budgets for the Fort Collins Community Pool and
the General Fund Facilities Division include, accordingly, only enough
appropriations for five-months of operation; and
WHEREAS, because of ongoing discussions regarding renovation of the
Community Pool , the scheduled renovation will not begin by the end of 1991 ; and
WHEREAS, the City wishes to keep the Community Pool open and operational
for the remainder of 1991 ; and
WHEREAS, the total amount needed to meet expected expenses to keep the
Community Pool operational from June to December 1991 is $83, 115; and
WHEREAS, it is anticipated that operating the Community Pool from June to
December 1991 will result in an additional $19,000 in revenue generated for the
Recreation Fund, with the remaining $64, 115 needed to cover the expected total
expenditures of $83, 115 having to come from the General Fund undesignated prior
year reserves; and
WHEREAS, of the $64,115 needed from the General Fund undesignated prior
year reserves, $44, 115 is needed for operating expenses for the Community Pool
and $20,000 is needed for repairs and maintenance of the Community Pool ; and
WHEREAS, Article V, Section 15, of the Charter of the City of Fort Collins
(the "Charter") authorizes the City Council to appropriate by ordinance, at any
time during the budget year, unanticipated revenue received as a result of new
revenue sources; and
WHEREAS, Article V, Section 8, of the Charter authorizes the City Council
to provide by ordinance for the payment of any expense from reserves accumulated
in prior years, notwithstanding that such reserves were not appropriated for
expenditures in the annual appropriation ordinance.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
as follows:
Section 1 . That there is hereby appropriated from unanticipated revenue
in the Recreation Fund the sum of NINETEEN THOUSAND DOLLARS ($19,000) for
operating expenses at the Fort Collins Community Pool .
Section 2. That there is hereby appropriated from undesignated prior year
reserves in the General Fund the sum of FORTY-FOUR THOUSAND ONE HUNDRED FIFTEEN
DOLLARS ($44, 115) for transfer to the Recreation Fund and appropriated therein
for operating expenses of the Fort Collins Community Pool .
Section 3. That there is hereby appropriated from undesignated prior year
reserves in the General Fund the sum of TWENTY THOUSAND DOLLARS ($20,000) for
transfer to the General Fund Facilities Division and appropriated therein for
preventive repairs and maintenance of the Fort Collins Community Pool .

this 19th day of March, A.D. 1991, and to be presented for final passage on the
16th day of April , A.D. 1991.
