OF TliE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
AMENDING CHAPTER 2 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY
TO INCLUDE LANGUAGE REGARDING THE RELATIONSHIP
OF THE CITY TO THE POUDRE FIRE AUTHORITY
WHEREAS, upon the direction of the City Council , the staff is in the
process of recodifying the present City Code and as a part of the
recodification obsolete provisions will be deleted, chapters will be
reorganized to facilitate use, and sections will be revised to conform to
present practices; and
WHEREAS, the current organization of the City includes five main
departments, one of which is the Office of Fire Services; and
WHEREAS, the City Code does not presently include language regarding
the City's relationship to the Poudre Fire Authority; and
WHEREAS, such language needs to be adopted as part of the City Code so
that the chapter regarding City organization will be complete.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT
COLLINS that a section be added to Chapter 2 of the Code of the City of
Fort Collins regarding the Poudre Fire Authority, which shall read as
follows:
§2- . Office of Fire Services.
The office of Fire Services shall be in the charge of the
Administrative Chief of the Poudre Fire Authority, an independent
governmental entity created by intergovernmental agreement between the
City and the Poudre Valley Fire Protection District, who shall be
responsible for the functions and duties necessary to provide fire
prevention and protection services as set out in Article VII of the
Charter of the City for the Fire Department.
Introduced, considered favorably on first reading and ordered
published this 21st day of October, A.D. 1986, and to be presented for
final passage on the 4th day of November, A.D. 1986.
