OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
REPEALING AND REENACTING SECTION 9-7 OF THE CODE OF THE
CITY OF FORT COLLINS AND PROVIDING FOR
THE ESTABLISHMENT BY RESOLUTION OF POLLING PLACES FOR
MUNICIPAL ELECTIONS
WHEREAS, the Colorado Municipal Election Code provides that the
governing body of the municipality may establish polling places for
municipal elections; and
WHEREAS, polling places for municipal elections may be established by
Resolution of the governing body; and
WHEREAS, Section 9-7 of the City Code currently provides for the
establishment of municipal election polling places; and
WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Fort Collins wishes to repeal the
current provisions of the City Code and make provisions for the
establishment of election polling places by Resolution of the City Council ;
and
WHEREAS, the Council wishes to provide for the amendment of polling
places under certain circumstances by the City Clerk.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT
COLLINS as follows:
Section 1. That Section 9-7 of the Code of the City of Fort Collins
is hereby repealed and reenacted as follows:
"Section 9-7. Designation of precincts and polling places.
Polling places for the several election precincts in the City of
Fort Collins shall be designated by Resolution of the City
Council . In the event that circumstances require any change to
any polling place after designation by the City Council , the
City Clerk is authorized to provide for a substitute polling
place and is directed to give proper notice of said any changes
in said polling places."
Introduced, considered favorably on first reading and ordered
published this 17th day of September, A. D. 1985 and to be presented for
final passage on the Ist day of October, A. D. 1985.
