HomeMy WebLinkAbout064 - 04/18/1989 - APPROPRIATING PRIOR YEAR RESERVES IN THE GENERAL FUND (FOR POLICE SERVICES EXPENDITURES) ORDINANCE NO. 64, 1989 OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS APPROPRIATING PRIOR YEAR RESERVES IN THE GENERAL FUND WHEREAS, Article V, Section 8, of the Charter of the City of Fort Collins authorizes the City Council to provide by ordinance for payment of any expense from prior year reserves at any time such reserves are available; and WHEREAS, the City, in accordance with state statutes, has seized money and property used in criminal activities through civil forfeiture proceedings; and WHEREAS, these funds have been deposited in a restricted reserve in the General Fund to be used, according to state statutes, for expenses other than those constituting the normal operating needs of Police Services. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS that there is hereby appropriated for expenditure from prior year reserves in the General Fund the total sum of EIGHTY THREE THOUSAND ONE HUNDRED SIXTY FOUR DOLLARS ($83,164) for Police Services' expenditures which are consistent with its functions and duties but distinct from its normal operating needs.
