OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
APPOINTING A BACKUP ALTERNATE REPRESENTATIVE TO
THE NORTH FRONT RANGE METROPOLITAN PLANNING COUNCIL
WHEREAS,by Resolution 2021-060 in May 2021,the City Council appointed Mayor Jeni
Arndt to serve as representative and Councilmember Tricia Canonico to serve as alternate
representative to the North Front Range Metropolitan Planning Council (hereafter as “MPO”);and
WHEREAS,by Resolution 2022-138 in December 2022,the Council modified the
appointments for the MPO,naming Councilmember Canonico as the primary representative and
Mayor Arndt as the alternate;and
WHEREAS,there may be one or more occasions on which these appointed representatives
are unavailable to attend scheduled MPO meetings;and
WHEREAS,the City Council has determined that it is in the best interest of the City to be
fully represented in MPO discussions and decisions in the event the appointed representatives are
not available and appointing a second alternate representative will help ensure this.
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT
COLLINS that the Council hereby appoints Councilmember Shirley Peel to serve as a second
alternate representative in substitution for the appointed representative or alternative
representative,as needed,to serve until such time as Council may reconsider and modify the same.
Passed and adopted at an adjourned meeting of the Council of the City of Fort Collins this
23rd day of May,2023.
