OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
EXPRESSING THE COUNCIL'S SUPPORT
FOR UKRAINE
WHEREAS, the City Council shares in the concern expressed by residents, both local
and throughout the nation, about the situation in Ukraine; and
WHEREAS, the City Council wishes to express its full support for the people of Ukraine;
and
WHEREAS, the destruction, loss of life, and displacement of hundreds of thousands of
people is creating a humanitarian crisis; and
WHEREAS, Ukraine deserves the support of Americans and the international community
as it defends itself; and
WHEREAS, Fort Collins Police Services has already collected and provided 16 ballistic
helmets and 10 ballistic vests to protect Ukraine's aid workers and defenders in combat zones;
and
WHEREAS, as global citizens who support the health and well-being of all, the Council
desires to publicly resolve support as set forth below.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
FORT COLLINS as follows:
Section 1. That the City Council hereby adopts the determinations and findings
contained in the recitals set forth above.
Section 2. That the City Council:
(1) Stands alongside Ukraine, its people, and its leaders and strongly endorses any
and all actions encouraging a cease-fire and peaceful resolution; and
(2) Encourages all interested and able to support these efforts through non-profits,
faith groups,contact with federal representatives, and other means.
Passed and adopted at a regular meeting of the Council of the City of Fort Collins this 5th
day of April, A.D. 2022.
