OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
EXPRESSING GRATITUDE AND APPRECIATION
TO ROSS CUNNIFF FOR HIS CONTRIBUTIONS TO THE
COMMUNITY AS CITY COUNCILMEMBER AND MAYOR PRO TEM
WHEREAS, Ross Cunniff was elected as a City Councilmember for District 5 on April 9,
2013, re-elected on April 5, 2017 and has served for eight years on City Council; and
WHEREAS,Councilmember Cunniff has served for four months as Mayor Pro Tem during
his eight years in office; and
WHEREAS, as Mayor Pro Tem he served on the City's Leadership Planning Team; and
WHEREAS,during his tenure on Council Mayor Pro Tem Cunniff has served as the Council
Liaison to the Air Quality Advisory Board, Building Review Board, Energy Board, General
Employee's Retirement Committee, Land Conservation & Stewardship Board, Landmark
Preservation Board, Planning and Zoning Board, Transportation Board, Zoning Board of Appeals;
and
WHEREAS,during his tenure on Council Mayor Pro Tem Cunniff has served as the Council
Committee assignment to the Ad Hoc Housing Committee, City Development Fee Advisory
Committee, Colorado Municipal League (CML) Policy Committee, Election Code Committee,
Ethics Review Board (Alternate), Finance Committee, Legislative Review Committee, and North
Front Range Regional Water Collaboration Steering Committee; and
WHEREAS, during his tenure on Council Mayor Pro Tem Cunniff has also served as a
member of City Council Mall Redevelopment Committee, CSU Stadium Community
Development Design Advisory Committee (Alternate), Downtown Development Authority Board
of Directors (Alternate), Housing Catalyst, North Front Range Metropolitan Planning Council
(Alternate), Poudre Heritage Alliance Board, Poudre School District Alliance Committee, North
Front Range Wasteshed Policy Group, Platte River Power Authority, and Urban Renewal
Authority Board; and
WHEREAS, prior to his service on Council, Mayor Pro Tem Cunniff served on the Parks
and Recreation Board from 1999 to 2003 and was on the Energy Board from 2011 to 2013 and
also served as the Board chair; and
WHEREAS, Mayor Pro Tem Cunniff has been a strong advocate of financial stewardship
by working on continuous improvements of financial policies and practices which led to improved
transparency and accountability; and
WHEREAS, during his tenure, Mayor Pro Tem Cunniff has advocated for expansion and
protection of natural areas, trail systems, and other policies to achieve better protection of natural
resources and was awarded "Outstanding Elected Official" in 2019 from Recycle Colorado for his
work in the regional Wasteshed Coalition PAC; and

WHEREAS, Mayor Pro Tern Cunniff has shown his strong and continued commitment to
our community, serving two consecutive four-year terms as Councilmember for District 5 from
2013 until 2021 and as Mayor Pro Tern from January 5, 2021 to April 27, 202I.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT
COLLINS that the City expresses its sincere appreciation and gratitude to Ross Cunniff for his
service and contributions to the community as District 5 Councilmember and Mayor Pro Tem.
Passed and adopted at a special meeting of the City Council held the 27th day of April,
A.D. 2021.
